Build fine motor skills by making shapes with Wikki Stix

Have you ever played with Wikki Stix?  They are so much fun and they are great for building fine motor skills and for learning activities!  You can bend them into all kinds of shapes and designs and they stick to things without having to add glue so there is no mess.  But the best part is they are re-useable and can be used over and over again!  Today the kiddos played with the Wikki Stix and made shapes with them and stuck them on the window.

Literacy and fine motor activities using wikki stix to make shapes

At school, I will have the kids stick the Wikki stix onto the white board.  My students just love to use Wikki stix and they enjoy when I give them challenges.  In our small group time,  I will give them tasks like make a square using only 2 Stixes, make a small, medium and large circle, etc.

Things you can do with wikki stix:

  • make shapes
  • make pre-printing shapes
  • make your name
  • make numbers and letters
  • make pictures
  • make sight words
There are so many ways to use them!
